Employee Spotlight is a blog series meant to offer an inside look at our company culture and, most importantly, highlight the talented individuals who help make our company so special. From accountants and software implementation specialists to operations, marketing, and HR professionals, get to know the people behind Chazin.
Today, we are getting to know Liza Calderon, our talented Senior Marketing Manager. Liza is based out of Washington State and has been with Chazin since 2020. Let's learn more about her:
1. What's your role at Chazin?
As the Senior Marketing Manager, I lead all marketing efforts at Chazin. I develop and execute strategic initiatives to increase brand awareness, generate business opportunities, and support our mission of empowering nonprofits. From content creation and digital campaigns to branding and advertising, I oversee the full scope of our marketing strategy while collaborating closely with the Business Development Team to align our messaging with company goals.
2. What's the most rewarding part about your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is getting to use my creativity and marketing expertise to help a company that empowers nonprofits to succeed. Learning about our clients' missions and seeing how our work supports organizations making a difference is incredibly fulfilling. Plus, I get to collaborate with a fantastic team spread across the country in an environment that fosters innovation and teamwork.
3. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love reading (fiction with a good plot twist is my favorite kind of book to read), crafting, and baking! I also love to travel and always look forward to visiting new places and trying new foods.
4. What's your favorite volunteer activity?
I have a huge soft spot for animals, so all my volunteering revolves around animal shelters. Whether it is managing their social media accounts to bring awareness and fundraise for resources, helping during adoption events, or assisting in cleaning and feeding animals, I’m always up for helping organizations that care for our furry friends.
5. Please share any exciting news or a fun fact about yourself:
I was born and raised in El Salvador and moved to the U.S. in 2006 for college. I recently became a U.S. citizen (and just voted in my first U.S. election!), so I now enjoy dual citizenship—which means double the national pride and double the excuses to celebrate holidays!
Thank you, Liza! Would you like to be part of the Chazin team? Check out our careers page for current opportunities and don't forget to check back next month for a new Employee Spotlight.
